Dinner of the Dons celebration in Mexico with Don Papa Rum!

On April 28th, MONARQ, in partnership with Bodegas Alianza, organized an intriguing and interactive gastronomic experience, called ‘Dinner of the Dons’, at Çuina restaurant in Mexico City, Roma Norte.

On arrival at the beautiful venue with a decor inspired this evening by SUGARLANDIA, the spiritual home of Don Papa, the invited press and influencers were welcomed with a delicious, fresh Kanlaon spritz and a welcome speech by Geoffrey Markle, MONARQ’s Regional Director, who hosted the evening together with MONARQ’s Mexico commercial staff Rodrigo Verduzco and Maria Paula Etchebehere.

Before dinner, Chef Xano Saguer and Chef Fernanda Prado also offered a masterclass and shared with the guests the secret of making three sweet tapas with rum as the main ingredient. Afterwards, the guests could take a seat at the atmospheric and colorfully decorated tables, with stunningly designed name and menu cards, matching the invites and the label on the Don Papa bottle. Don Papa rum was the main ingredient in all the exquisite dishes served during the three-course dinner, which consisted of a marinated burrata with broccoli barbecue and peanut and chipotle dressing; Short Rib with Don Papa Rum sauce, mashed potato and vanilla, and grilled vegetables. The meal was rounded up with a bread of hot corn, served with creamy Don Papa Rum and chocolate ice cream, perfectly ending the evening.

All the food was paired with four Don Papa Rum cocktails specifically designed for this evening and available throughout the month of May at Çuina.

Don Papa Rum is a premium aged, single-island rum from the Philippines, created on the foothills of the active volcano Mt. Kanlaon, where the finest sugar cane is milled to produce sweet, rich molasses. After Harvest, Don Papa is blended to perfection before coming together in an alchemy of magic in a bottle.
